“Many years ago, a candy maker wanted to make a candy that symbolized the true meaning of Christmas-Jesus. He began with a stick of pure white, hard candy: white to represent our Savior, sinless and pure, and hard candy to symbolize Jesus as our Rock, dependable and strong, the foundation of the Church. He then formed the candy into a “J” to represent the name of Jesus; when turned around, it represents the staff of the Good Shepard, who protects his sheep. Lastly, the candy maker added red stripes to represent the blood Jesus shed for us.”

This short story is a reminder of what Christmas should really be about, Jesus. We are so caught up in receiving gifts, or maybe even giving gifts. Although giving gifts is good, Christmas is about spending time with our families, and celebrating the birth of Christ.
