Something that you may not know about me is that I love crafting in my free time. This year I am making a snow globe for my mom because I know she would rather have a homemade gift than a bought gift for Christmas. Here are the steps to a successful snow globe. I hope you enjoy my project.

Supplies Used:
– mason or food jars (i used artichokes and salsa)

– distilled water

– glitter
– liquid glycerin
– ornaments for inside globes
– permanent glue (crazy glue)
Steps:
1. I used the lid of mason jar and i spray painted it gold. Also if the ornaments is not the color you desire you can paint it any color you wish.
2.Use the permanent glue to stick your figures on the lid of your jar such as little Christmas trees, snowmen, or Santa.
3. Add glitter  to the bottom of the jar, enough for a layer of snow. Fill the jar with distilled water and add a few drops of glycerin which helps the glitter not stick together.
4. By now the figures on the lid should be done drying(10 min.) so you can turn the lid upside down and stick it into the jar.
5.Secure tightly by adding a thin layer of glue around the lid and closing it.
A few notes:
– make sure to fill the water to the top leaving barely enough space for the lid and the figures.
– after a while the water can turn a slightly different color depending on your choice of paint.
– glycerin is not a must have supply but it would be nice to have so the water will stay fresher longer.
This is a great idea for presents.
