As a young girl, Mrs. Beyhan had always wanted to be a teacher. Being the baby of eight children, she played “school” with her other siblings, even when they didn’t want to she said. She was born in Silver City in New Mexico. After graduating college, she moved to Farmington with her husband. She later had a daughter who now works at DisneyWorld in Florida.

After getting out of college she started teaching at McCormick Elementary. She taught grades K-6th Spanish bilingual for three years.  Later she taught kindergarten and 2nd-3rd graders at Central Consolidated. Afterwards she was an administrator of Title III and a coordinator of mentorship. In total she has taught for 31 years.

Mrs. Beyhan has been at Sacred Heart for five years, teaching second grade, Pre-K, and then becoming our principal. When asked what her favorite part of being a teacher and principal was, she stated, “My favorite part is being able to see all the kids and their accomplishments.” She later stated her least favorite part would have to be discipline.

Thank you writing a piece on me in your newspaper. I would like to make a few corrections. I taught K-6 Spanish Bilingual at McCormick Elementary for 3 years. The total number of years I have been in education is 31. Our daughter works at Disneyworld in Florida.

    Thanks again Natalia,

    Mrs. Beyhan
